CinderBackup was started because cloud backup got expensive, confusing, and quietly hostile. We sell one thing — encrypted backup — and we charge for it once.
CinderBackup is operated by Marouane El Orfi as a sole proprietorship from Rawlins, Wyoming. Our infrastructure runs on enterprise-grade object storage with redundant regions, and our client software encrypts everything locally before it leaves your device.
We have no investors to please and no growth dashboard to feed. That means we can do simple things — like a real one-time payment, in USD, with a fair refund window — without anyone asking us to "rethink monetisation."
What we believe
- Your data is yours. Zero-knowledge encryption is the only acceptable default.
- Pricing should be honest. One price, paid once, in USD. No coupon games.
- Restore is the product. If you can't get it back in minutes, it isn't backup.
- Support is humans. Every email is read and answered by a real person.
